Materials

Cast and finished with controlled precision, “Emergence II — Arrested Step” is available in gold plated, palladium plated, ruthenium plated, and black varnish finishes. Subtle surface irregularities are intentionally retained, allowing light to articulate the tension between refinement and raw emergence. Each component is treated as an autonomous fragment—reinforcing the conceptual separation that defines the work.

Limited series production.
Each finish is conceived as a limited and controlled edition, developed within ACT I — EMERGENCE as the generative framework of the MILIUS collection.

In “Emergence II — Arrested Step,” the body is not represented as portrait but as function: stance, passage, the minimum architecture of movement. The footwear-form appears as a fragment that has detached from its original system, becoming an object of measurement—part relic, part device. Within Act I — EMERGENCE, the work advances a central proposition of the MILIUS collection: that identity can be constructed through controlled separation, where each element holds its own autonomy and pressure. The cufflink format compresses sculpture into wearable scale, turning the gesture of fastening into an act of containment and release.
