BODIES IN RESONANCE –  studies in sonic identity

Fretwork of Thought approaches cognition as a patterned resonance rather than a linear process. Thought emerges through repetition, tension, and subtle articulation — closer to vibration than to declaration. The body appears as a lattice through which sensation and idea circulate.

Within BODIES IN RESONANCE, this image shifts the series toward the interior mechanics of listening. Sound no longer presses from without; it organizes from within. Sonic identity is suggested as a structure formed by echoes, pauses, and intervals that accumulate into meaning without ever fully solidifying.

Thinking, here, is a resonant act.

Photographic Process

Captured through analogue photography on film and later digitised, the work preserves the material sensitivity of film while allowing precise tonal calibration in its final printed form. The process supports the image’s attention to fine gradations, internal rhythm, and the delicate architecture of perception.

Series Context

Positioned after the bodily encounter with sonic weight, Fretwork of Thought introduces an internal ordering within BODIES IN RESONANCE. It frames listening as a cognitive lattice, extending the series’ exploration of sonic identity from physical impact toward mental patterning and internal coherence.
