The Crossing represents transition without return. The structure suggests passage — from one state into another — without providing markers of origin or destination. Mechanical and organic elements intersect at a single, decisive point.
This is not a bridge but a threshold already crossed. The piece denies symmetry and comfort, emphasizing imbalance as a necessary condition of change. Each element seems aware of having left a former alignment behind.
As part of Act 3, The Crossing embodies irreversible transformation. It does not commemorate passage; it occupies it, insisting that the act of crossing alters the system permanently.
